20180422 Weekly Update
Another week has come and gone with slow writing progress and more playing with my new computer. 😊 I have installed just about all the programs I use on a regular basis and am eyeing several I wouldn’t dare look at when I was struggling with my dearly departed PC. Oh, the temptation!
For the most part, the new speedy PC is doing all I need. Aside from a handful of apps that are either not supported or are no longer available, I have been putting my files in order, setting up my writing, graphics, videos and ongoing projects with relative ease. (Relative means I take about an hour searching for what I need before finding it and moving on.) Ah, the joys of breaking in a new gadget!
Something else has been happening as I worked on my file restoration and application installations. I was looking over a couple of revision plans for The Orb and the up and coming Bob series when a story began to form. Pretty much it happened as I describe it in my Facebook post below but I ended up stopping most of what I was doing for a couple of days and letting the story flow out so I could put it down for later. It was a fun ride and I think I put down all that I needed for the story to take place. The funny thing? It is a bridge between The Orb and Black Wall. I hadn’t thought about anything to bring these two books together, but something in my noggin pieced together these two tales.
My fave Instagram this week is below. I hope we can all find inspiration in life to keep the spark lit for now and always. Onwards! 😊
No one will ever know the complexity of your mind or the beauty of your dreams until you ignite the spark of passion inside and share it with the world. Onwards! +
Facebook continues to be the outlet I have fun with. My fave post this week was in response to a question on process. 😊
Question: Writing creatives… How do you start writing your book? What’s your process?
My answer: Usually reality just crumbles around me as the story begins taking shape. The longer I put off getting it down, the more it intrudes on the rest of the world until I pull up a notepad, email or napkin to write down the story. With luck, I’ll swim out of the deep waters of my mind and continue with my day. (Umm… I’m not always lucky.) ðŸ¤
A final personal note: I hope that everyone who finds my Facebook, Instagram or blog posts will come away with more than a mere update on a writer’s musings.  I post to keep my friends, family and followers updated on my works, but I also try to give a positive message for anyone passing by.  I have had my share of ups and downs in this world and know there are many who have had it far worse.  I send out hopeful thoughts as much as I can because there were times in my life when a single word of encouragement had the power to make my day better. May we all find a means of sharing good words and while helping ourselves, we help one another. Onwards!
